6 3 1 frames may also be supplied with anchors welded in place. They are available for either 1 3 8 35 or 1 3 4 44 thick doors. Identical profile jambs and heads 1 face through 2 face in 1 8 increments are now available kd m g and mk profile. The base anchors have holes pre drilled so you can fasten the frame to the floor.

In new block walls the frame is fastened to the floor at the base anchors and either wire masonry anchors or t anchors are used. Non standard available upon request at an additional charge. Figure 5 the steel stud anchor welded to the back of the jamb is used on custom frames and meets fire rating requirements. Make any necessary adjustments.

6 5 where possible one jamb should be butted tightly to the wall. Frame is punch and dimpled 4 dimpled holes per jamb 8 per frame. At the next course or approximately 72 from the floor lay in another anchor on the hinge and strike jambs. These are welded or screwed into the bottom of both jambs.

Existing masonry anchors are used at openings where the block walls are already up and waiting for the frame to be installed. Furnished with flat head 8 3 8 x 6 masonry sleeve anchors or flat head 8 3 8 x 5 wood lag screws. Steel door frame installation in masonry construction 30. Wire anchors slide down the jamb throat to be embedded in mortar joints of new masonry construction.

Base anchors come as standard in welded type hollow metal frames. Continue laying the block and filling the jambs with mortar evenly up both. Again check the frame to be sure it is plumb level and square. Frames are installed after a majority of the studs are in place but before the gypsum wall board has been installed.
